NY TIMES, June 2013
SUMMARY:
An opinion piece, but a good top level one that coincides with the marcro-trends we've been seeing in our strategy department. The world is moving away from traditional ownership--this is mine and that is yours--to a community of sharers; think AirBnb, ZipCar, bike rentals and tool rentals. After the Industrial Revolution and the invention of credit, we moved away from sharing and felt the need to own and posses our own (fill in the blank). But courtesy of the economy, technological advancements, a society tired of over consumption and overpaying, and a desire for more connection on a communal level, we're looking to go back to a model of a sharing economy. Good read.
