A very interesting (and free to watch online!) documentary by film maker Debbie Lum, exploring the relationship between men who seek out women from Asian countries to marry in order to fulfill their fantasies of the "submissive Asian wife." Lum explores one couple in particular, trying to understand what's behind the "Asian Fever" some older Caucasian men obsess with, but also exploring the matter from the oft overlooked woman's perspective; is it just to escape to a better life? Is there love? Does the "White Fever" fantasy exist on her side? What does a mail order bride or similar lose (and gain) from the arrangement? An interesting and emotional look into the complex relationships and struggles that come for those Seeking Asian Females.
