Sexism seems fairly black and white, but it actually exists in two ways; the ambivalent kind and the hostile variety. While it may seem harmless to think that women need knights in shining armor and keeping them at home with the kids is what will make her happy, this in its own right is a type of thinking that assigns inferiority to women, though in my opinion (and many others, I'd hope), it's far less harmless than the hostile variety--the type that blames women for being raped because they wore provocative clothes, for example. Very interesting survey from the Social Psychology Network, takes less than 5 minutes, and afterwards you can compare your level of sexism to scores of other people from around the world, as well as what you score higher in, ambivalent or hostile.
