Why The Rich Don't Give to Charity

The Atlantic, March 2012

ARTICLE SUMMARY:
This article goes into the charitable donations (or lack of) by the wealthy. Particularly interesting that the rich give 1.3% of their income, and the poorest among us give 3.2%. The breakdown of where the donations go are also very telling, with the rich giving to museums/arts/universities/popular causes and the poor giving to the community. Is being part of a homogeneously rich circle the reason for this stark divide?
