ARTICLE SUMMARY:As a feminist this is rather depressing but not unexpected; 72% of Americans do not define themselves as feminists. The term has moved beyond the equality of the sexes, and has picked up a new definition largely based on negative perceptions, becoming an insult associated man bashing and feminazi's rather than a descriptor for someone who believes in equal political and social rights for women.
